Aug 4, 2018. Our original plans were to return to the range at Cow Mountain. However, as circumstances would have it, by August 4, Cow Mountain was entirely ablaze along with two hundred thousand acres of Lake and Mendocino county forest. Therefore, after morning Mass, we were welcomed at the shooting range at Two Rock in Northwest Marin county. The first couple of hours were spent taking turns with shotguns and throwing clay pigeons. With the cool breeze, fine weather, and delightful company, this exercised proved an oddly welcome and restorative break from the stress and smoke of the previous week. The rifle range was the next stop as we learned and honed our skill with primarily .22 rifles. The day concluded with much bantering over a leisurely lunch.
